CRICKET ASSOCIATION.

The annual general meeting of the Canterbury Cricket Association was held in Mr Oookson’s Commercial Hotel on Saturday evening, May Bth ; Mr E. 0. J. Stovers in the chair. The balancesheet submitted showed that the financial position of the association was not as satisfactory as could be wished, and some discussion arose on the subject, the chairman and Mr Corfe pointing out that it would be necessary to make an effort to improve their position in the interest of cricket. Officers were elected as follows :—President, Mr E. C. J. Stevens; vice-president, Mr H. P, Lance ; secretary and treasurer, Mr Oondell. Messrs Stevens, Fuller and Condell wore appointed the finance and ground committee, and Messrs Ashby, Secretan and Ollivier the match committee.
