A letter was read from the Dunedin Jockey Club, slating that they had removed the disqualification from the jockey McKie, and asking if the C.J.O. would remove their veto as regarded Canterbury. After a lengthy discussion, Dr Prins’ motion that the request of the D. J.C. be acceded to was negatived by 8 to 7, consequently the disqualification remains in forco in Canterbury. The Chairman read a letter from Mr F. He moved —“ That a sum of £25 be placed at Mr Stead’s disposal for clerical assistance to the club, rendered uo to April 30th, 1880.” Mr Cunningham seconded the motion, which was carried un -.nimoualy. He thought the election should be for a whole year. The Secretary annotmeed that Sir Cracroft Wilson had resigned his seat on the committee.
It was moved by Mr Birch, seconded by Mr Stead, and agreed to—" That the stewards, committee and officers bo elected for twelve months.”
