THEATRE ROYAL.
In spite of the unfavourable nature of the weather the attendance at tho Theatre Royal last night, on the occasion of Mr Boothman's benefit, was a proof of the estimation in which he is held by the public as an actor of more than average merit. The piece was the "Lady of Lyons," the beneficiaro sustaining the character of Claude Melnotte. He gave a spirited effective rendering of the part, his honors being shared by Miss Floronce Colville, who as Pauline played in the finished style which justly renders her such a popular favorite. Mr Hoskins gave an admirable representation of the bluff old General Damas. Mins Ashton was a good representative of Madame Deschapelles, and Miss Lizzie Laurence made the most of the character of the Widow Melnotto. Mr J. P. Hydos was very amusing as Glavis, and Mr Alexander played the role of Beauseant with care. The remaining characters were creditably sustained by the respective members of the company. Mr Boothman and Mias Colville were honored with more than one call during the progress of the piece, and again oh the fall of tho curtain. This evening the " Ticket-of-Leavo Man" will bo repeatod for the lact time.
