THE SOUTH TOWN BELT.

A special meeting of the Sydenham Borough Council was held this morning at offioes of Messrs Drapers, Charters and Co., to consider the draft of a short Bill to give the Sydenham Borough Council power to expend money on the South town belt. The Bill as drawn up by a sub-committee of the Sydenham Council, was laid before the meeting, and it was resolved to submit it this evening to the approval of the City Council, prior to its being drafted in legal form by the Borough Council's solicitors for transmission to Wellington. 16 is understood that the Bill will be tiken charge of by the Ohristchurch members. Before dispersing, the Sydenham Council passed a resolution affirming the desirability of calling a public meeting, at an early date, to protest against the removal of the Railway stall to.'Dunt din, and securing the co-operation of the Ohristchurch City Council.
