SABBATH SCHOOL INSTITUTE.
The usual monthly meeting of the members of the Sabbath School Institute took plaoe laßt evening (April 29tb) in the Congregational schoolroom, Manchester street. There was a good attendance, Mr 0. B. Taylor occupying the chair. The address, which was delivered by the Rev. Mr Williams, was divided into three heads. 1. " Helps in the gathering of the subject matter ; " 2, " Ability to impart the matter gathered; " and 3, "Thehelp of God's aid." In the course of his remarks Mr Williams suggested a number of works which every teacher should possess, and also advocated the formation of normal and preparatory classes, defining the difference between each. The paper was of a valuable and practical nature, and listened to with deep attention, at the same time evoking a considerable amount of discussion. At the close of the meeting several new members were enrolled. Misa Inglis kindly presided at the harmonium, and the proceedings closed with singing and prayer. There are now fifty-seven members on the roll of the institute.
