THE GANG PLOUGH
Aa exhibition trial of the two-furrow gang plough imported by Messrs G. King and Co. of this city was held, in a paddock belonging to Mr W. Boss, Rangiora, on Tuesday. O wing to a delay in getting a team, the trial took place so late in in the day that many of tho farmers interested had to leave early to attend the sales. Those who were at the pains to inspect the implement when at work were highly pleased with its performance, and the quality of the work turned out in a somewhat hard soil. The plough was drawn by two horses, and set to plough at various depths up to ten inches also to make furrows varying in width to ten inches. As a stubble plough it was stated by practical men to be the best they had ever seen. MrHompton, who attended, explained tho various adjustments, and afforded every information regarding its working. A similar trial will be held in Mr Loe’s paddock, Leeston, on Thursday.
