Owing to the prevalence of diphtheria and measles in "Victoria, passengers arriving here from Melbourne are placed in quarantine for twenty-four hours. MELBOURNE, April 28. Mr ChildersThe Government have received a telegram from Mr Childers, resigning his position as chairman of the Board of Advice and of Agent General for Victoria in London, owing to his acceptance of the Secretaryship of State for War in the new ministry. The Renenue. The Customs revenue for last year amounted to £150,000, being a decrease of £60,000 compared with the previous year, notwithstanding the increase ef taxation. The total value of imports for the year shows a decrease exceeding £IOO,OOO, and the exports show a falling off of £250,000. SYDNEY, April 27. Mutual Provident SocietyMessrs Goodlet and Joseph have been elected Directors of the Australian Mutual Provident Society.
