MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : SATURDAY, APRIL 24. For the United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, China, Japan, <fcc. (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, New Sonth Wales, and Queensland, Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Hawea, as follows : Ordinary letters, at 6.30 p.m. Late fee letters, at 7 p.m. Books and newspapers, at 5.30 p.m. Registered letters, at 4.30 p.m. Money orders, at 4 p.m. Guard's van, 8.15 p.m. train. This mail will be due in London on June Bth. MONDAY, APRIL 26. For Northern Ports, per Taiaroa, at 1.50p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 28. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Penguin (to connect with s.s. Tararua at Port Chalmers) at 1.50 p.m. ; late fee letters, 2 10 p.m.; guard's van, 240 pm. train. THURSDAY, APRIL 29. For Northern Ports, per Ringarooma, at 3.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.25 p.m.; guard's van, 3.55 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindi&i (for specially addressed correspondence only), will be closed at Christchnrch on May 6th, and will be due in London on June 26th. SYDNEY J.
