Mining on Private PropertyIn the Legislative Assembly last night, Mr Fitzgerald, leader of the Opposition, gave notice of a motion tantamount to a vote of want of confidence in the Government, in consequence of the latters refusal to legislate on the question of mining on private property. Mutual Provident SocietyAt a meeting of the Mutual Provident Society yesterday, the proposal to amend the by-law relating to proxies was rejected by a large majority. Shipping.
