ST. PAUL'S, PAPANUI.

The annual Eister meeting, adjourned from the 9th instant, on account of the inclemency of the weather, was held in St. Paul's schoolroom on Friday, April 16th, at 7.30 p.m., the Eev. F. G-. Brittan, incumbent, in the chair. The meet ing was opened with prayer. The balancesheet of receipts and expenditure for the past year was read by the outgoing churchwarden, showing the total receipts £-146 17s 4d ; expenditure, £515 16s Id. On tho motion of Mr Thomas, seconded by Mr Mulligan, the balance-sheet as read was adopted. Mr Norman was nominated churchwarden by tho chairman, and Mr 0. E Jennings was elected parishioners' churchwarden by the meeting. The following were appointed vestrymen for the ensuing year :—Messrs. D. Thomas, J. Stanley, GK Durey. H. G-odfrpy, G-. Harper, Or. Dunnage, J. Johns, W. Eldred, and GK Moon, It was decided that the church building fund debt should be separated from the ordinary Church accounts in the banking account, and that a treasurer should be appointed in tho place of Mr Henry Matson, who wbb unable to act on account of illhealth. It was resolved that tho services of the Rev. P. O. Anderson as assistant minister should be continuod for the ensuing quarter, under the same arrangement as before. An additional loan ol: £250 to the church building fund having been promised by the Church Property Trustees, upon tho security of two names to bo approved by them, Messrs. Or. Harper and T. I. Joynt undertook to fill in the bond, and submit the same to the standing committeo at their next meeting. The sum of £5 was voted for tho erection of book rests and screens for tho front seats in the church. Tho question of providing now choir seats was brought forward, and it was decided that alternative designs should be obtained and submitted to the vestry, one gentleman in tho room offering a contribution of £lO towards tho cost of tho same. Votes of thanks to the outgoing church officers, choir, Sunday-3chool teachers, and lay reader terminated tho proceedings.
