SYDNEY, April 8, The Two Houses.

In the Legislative Assembly, last night, the Bill to define the powers of the Legislative Council was read a second time. Sir Henry Parkss, the Premier, stated that ho would proceed no furtluf with the Bill until a similar measure, which had been introduced in the Upper House, had been dealt with. Exhibition Awards.

The following Exhibition awards are announced. Furniture Seaford, of Auckland, specially commended. Firstclass—Large and Townley of Napier, and Carl Peters of Wellington; secondclass, Guthrie and Larnach, Dunedin, and Nicholson, Wellington; third-class, Burt, of Dunedin. First-class awards have been made to Burt for gasaliers, to Petersen, Christchurch (special) for a silver jug; to Myers, of Wellington (sic.) and to Guthrie and Larnach for a hall door second class awards to Greenfield and Stewart, for a mantelshelf; to Halley Erwing, and Stewart, all of Wellington, for doors; and to Sandstein, of Christchurch, for ah epergne ; third class awards are made to Scott for stoves; and to Child and White, Christchurch, for cone work.
