After tea a public meeting was hold, the pastor presiding. Mr Pannett, treasurer of the church, read the report, from which it appeared that the attendance at the services is better than it has been for some time, and that financially the church was in an encouraging condition, a balance being in the treasurer’s hands. A letter was road from the Rev. T. W. Smyth, regretting his inability to be present. Addresses were delivered by the Revs. Blake, Dallaston and Cato, and Messrs Fittall, Marriner and Powell. During the evening the choir of the Oxford terrace Baptist Church sang a number of Sankey’s hymns, under the able leadership of Mr Corrick. The meeting, which was a most successful one, was brought to a close by the chairman pronouncing the benediction.
