SITTING IN CHAMBERS. Wednesday, Maeoh 24. [Before his Honor Mr Justice Johnston.] His Honor took his seat at eleven o’clock, and the undermentioned cases were disposed of : BE PUBLIC WOEEB AND DIBTBIOT EAILWATB ACT. In the case of the New Zealand and Australian Land Company Limited y the Eakaia and Ashburton Forks Railway Company Limited, Mr Harper applied for an order appointing time and place for the first sitting of the Compensation Court. There was another case on the list of a similar nature—namely, O. H. Williams v the Eakaia and Ashburton Forks Railway Company, in reference to which Mr Harper’s application appliel. After consideration, his Honor appointed Wednesday, April 14th, for the sitting of the Court. OEDEEO OP DISOHABGB. Orders of discharge were granted to the following debtors J. J. Lee, A. Lindemann, Charles Sexton, John Maguire, George Buist, David Foster, George .Simpson and Peter Rentoul, Frederick Hermann von Sohoeneberg, John Martindale, Susan Morris, Thomas Wilson, Thomas Mapp, William Bateman, James Jackson, Frederick Furze, John McCuaig, John Reynolds Willoox, Robert Lock Owen, J, Hogarth, Charles Higgins, Thomas Turner, Frederick Bashford, Samuel Wilson, Paul Northey, Edward Harman. GBINBTBAD AND ANOTHEE T. M'ENEAENEY. Herein an order was made for the hearing on the Ist of April. DEEDS EEQISTBATION ACT AND BE L. POWELL, DECEASED. Mr Deacon applied herein for leave to register copy of the will. Granted. BE AWDBEW SPIELING, DECEASED. On the application of Mr Ootterill, an order was made herein for probate to issue. EE DEEDS EEGISTEATION ACT AND DEED OP ASSIGNMENT OP WILLIAM SAUNDEES. Mr Oowlishaw applied herein for leave to register copy of deeds. His Honor granted the application. EE JOHN BBEVIN, DECEASED, AND EE JAMES THOMAS, DECEASED. Mr Joyce applied for probate to issue to the executors herein, and the order was granted in each instance. THE WILL OP WILLIAM COLTEET, DECEASED, AND BE DEEDS EEGISTEATION ACT. An application by Dr Foster for leave to register copy of the will of deceased. His Honor granted leave. QUINN V. COLL, EE CONVEYANCE OEDINANCB AND DEED OP MOETGAGB. Mr Stringer applied to have this cause hoard on the Ist of April. His Honor signified his willingness to have the case set down for the day named. DEBTOES AND CEEDITOBS ACT, AND EE DEED OP ASSIGNMENT BY STEVENSON. Mr Cowlishaw moved for a declaration of complete execution of deed named herein. An order was made as required. HILL AND OTHEES V. YOUNG.

Herein Mr Joynt applied for one month’s further time to plead. Mr Harper, on the other side, offered no objection. His Honor granted the time ashed for. DXYOECE AND MATBIMONIAI, CAUSES ACT—MUNEO V. MUNBO AND CDAEK. Mr Thomas applied for extension of time to plead and to have certain proceedings set aside. His Honor dismissed the application with costs, eight days being allowed to plead. DEEDS BEQTSTBATION ACT AND BE "WILL OF CHARLES BEAD, DECEASED. On the application of Mr Thomas heroin, leave was given to register probate copy of the will. EE WIDD OP HENET.WATEEB, DECEASED. An order was made herein for probate to issue to Neil Black and Henry John Waters, executors named. Mr Thomas appeared- [ JAMBS BASSINGTITWAITE V. J. AND MABT > B AS SING-TH WAITE. Mr Deacon applied, on behalf of the

trustee in bankruptcy of James Bassingthwaite, for a summons to issue for the surviving defendant to show cause why plaintiff should not have leave to enter suggestion of death. His Honor granted the order as applied for. BE DEBTORS AND CREDITORS ACT AND BE GEORGS JOHNSTON. On the application of ; Mr Thomas, an order was made for the discharge of tho debtor. DEBTOBS AND CREDITORS ACT AND BE TO. CRABTREE. An application was made herein for a rule nisi for the debtor to show cause why he should not attend an adjourned meeting of creditors, and in default bo arrested for contempt of Court, and why he should not pay all costs on the grounds named. His Honor granted the rule. This concluded the business.
