THE REVIEW.
Amongst the arrangements made for the reception of visitors to Christchurch in connection with the Volunteer review, should be mentioned the officers’ quarters prepared by Mr. Coker, of the Family Hotel, Manchester street. Next door to the house just named is a large warehouse, which Mr Coker has rented from the owner, Mr White, for the accommodation of volunteer officers. The building possesses extensive accommodation, and considerable expense has been incurred in furnishing and generally fitting up the premises to provide quarters of the most comfortable character. On the second floor is a large room covering the whole length and breadth of the building, and this has been fitted up with canvas partitions forming small singlebedrooms.’andthe usual toilet requisites. On the ground floor is the dining-raom, which is also well-appointed, and the coffee, or lounging room, is admirably furnished. On the spare ground attached a tent is to be erected, for the accommodation of a hand, who will play during hour s of mess ; and, as already stated in a description of the general arrangements made'for the reception of the visitors, a number of volunteers will be quartered in the paddock on the opposite side of Manchester street.
