The weather to-day was again all that could be desired, and the attendance on the course was fair, though somewhat below what was expected. There was very little betting on the races, and tho totalisator was not very liberally patronised. The Maiden Plate was a very hollow affair. Of the five on the card Lady Love, Little John, and the Little Lady colt were scratched, and May Morn had an easy victory. The Steeplechase was also a hollow affair, Shillelagh being the only one of the horses to go round. The Hack Selling Steeplechase produced a very good race, but the fineßt race of the day was the Autumn Handicap, in which the four horaes ran almost in a clußter until entering the straight, when Chancellor drew slightly away, and won a grand race by a bare length from Tera, with Blue Peter a good third. The handicapping was splendid, and proved the wisdom of the club's choice of Mr Sherwin as handioapper. The following are tne results : Maiden Plate of 30 sovs; H miles. May Morn ... ... 1 Newlands 2 Only two started. Won in a canter. Handicap Steeplechase of 50 sovs; 3 miles. Autumn Handicap of 50 sovs; 1-J miles. Chancellor ... ... ... ... ... 1 Tera 2 Blue Peter 3 Luna ... ... ... ... 4 A splendid race, and won by Chancellor by a short half length. Tho time was remarkably fast, being 3min. 13sec. Novel Race of 50 sova. Adamant ... 1 May Morn 2 Deception > 3 Adamant was too good for the company he was in, and won easily. The Consolation Handicap of 20 bovs was a walk over for York. A Benevolent Hurry Scurry brought tho meeting to a conclusion.
