Tha steamer* Wauganui, for Mreymonth via advertised ports and Jane Douglas, for Foxton via way p n rt3. to-day. The Union Company's s.s. Arawata arrived at 6 a.m. yesterdvy, with the Fnglish mail, transhipped from the Waitaki at Wellington. The steamer left Auckland on the 11th, and called at Gi3borne and Napier. She sailed for Port C'almers at 4 p.m. A ship last night was signalled from the northward. She is supposed to be the Salamanca, to load here for home. A small steamer, from the North, also seen, is supposed to be the Jane Douglas. The harbor master ye'terday stopped the Euterpe from taking in more grain while alongside the Gladstone Pier, as the vesel was occupying one of the new berths at the extension. She wanted but thirty or forty tons more to complete her cargo, and that will probably be lightered off to he' after her removal this morning to the stream. She will be cleared for London to-d»y by the New Zealand Shipping Company. The Anna Bell, for Adelaide, finished loading yesterday, and will tow ont to-day, the Western Monarch shifting more astern to give her better berthing accommodation.
