CHRISTCHURCH PRESBYTERY.
By request we publish the following paragraph from the report of the proceedings of the Christchurch Presbytery on Thursday last :—The requisitionists from Kaiapoi congregation who desired Mr McGregor’s instant dismissal for his late actions, on citation appeared to lay their accusations against him. It was moved by Mr Eraser, and seconded by Mr Hill—‘That the Presbytery finds, after lengthened examination into the Kaiapoi dispute, that there are no grounds for granting the request of the requisitionists ; also, that at the meeting of session, January 15th last, the special business for which the meeting was called ought to have been gone into. Further, that the Presbytery appoints the Rev. Messrs Hill, Douglas, Fraser, and the moderator a committee to deal with Mr McGregor and the congregation at Kaiapoi, and to report to the next ordinary meeting of the Presbytery.’ It was arranged that the Presbytery committee meet with the Kaiapoi congregation on Thursday evening, March TBth, at seven o’clock.
