PRESBYTERY OF CHRISTCHURCH.
TL» Presbytery met in St. Andrew's Church schoolroom on Thursday, March 11th. Present—The Revs. J. Horner (Moderator), McOallum, Cree, Douglas, Beattie, Cairns, Burnett, Lindsay, Blake, Hill, Fraser, McKee, McGregor (clerk), and Messrs Wilson and Craig, eiders. The Revs. Burnett, Cairns, Lindsay, and McKee were associated. It was intimated that the induction of the Rev. Mr Weßtbrooke at the Rakaia would take place on March 18th. A call to the Rev. Mr Burnett from Halkett, Kimberley, and Weedon, was accepted by that gentleman, and the induction fixed for Tuesday, March 23rd, at noon, at Halkett. The R«v. Mr Cairns intimated his acceptance of the call from Sydenham, and the induction was fixed for Thursday, March 25i,h, at 2 p.m. The request of the residents on the North Town Belt to be formed into a congregation under the Preshytery, with authority to moderate in a call to the Rev. Mr MeKee, late of Dublin, at a stipend of not less than £SOO per annum, was acceded to, and the Rev. Mr Hill was appointed Moderator. A commission from Prebbleton wm laid upon the table. The Rev. Mr Douglas withdrew his letter forwarded to the last meeting of the Presbytery. The Rev. Mr McGregor stated that as the Amberley and Waikari districts were disunited, he resigned his moderatorsbip. The R:v. Mr Fraser was appointed moderator of the Waikari district. The same gentleman was also authorised to make arrangements for holding divine service there. The Bevs. Messrs Hill, Douglas, Fraper, and the moderator were appointed a committee to meet the Kaiapoi congregation on Thursday, March 18th, at 7 p.m., to deal with the matter in dispute between the pastor and the congregation. The meeting then closed with the Benediction.
