HEATHCOTE REGATTA.

A meeting of the committee appointed to carry out arrangements for the Heathcote Regatta, to be held on the 24th instant, was held at the Commercial Hotel last evening ; Mr Thomson in the chair. The business of the meeting was to prepare a programme and appoint officers for the regatta; and after due consideration it was resolved that the list of events should consist of the following :—Senior pair-oar race, one mile and a-half; four-oar sweepstakes, mile and a-half ; champion four-oars, two miles and a-half ; junior fours, two miles; double sculls, one mile and a-half; junior pairs, one mile ; canoe race, one mile. A pro* gramme, containing full particulars, will shortly be published. It was also determined to endeavor to obtain a holiday on the day of the regatta, and Mr Thomson promised the committee that he would make this matter his special care.
