MAGISTRATES’ COURTS.
CHEISTCHUEOH. Saturday, March 6. (Before John Marahman, Esq., and W. M. Maakell, Esq.’s, J.P.’s.j Drunk and Disorderly. —Three drunkards were fined respectively, 10s., 205., and 40s. Indecency. —William Smith and Sarah Louisa Bowman were charged with committing an act of indecency in view of a public place. The evidence of Mr Armstrong, the curator of the public gardens, and of his assistant, John O'Oallaghan, was conclusive as to the commission of the act with which the prisoners were charged. Fined £5 each, or in default one month's imprisonment. Fame Pretences. —Montague Mosley was charged with obtaining the sum of 3s by false pretences from Bichard Leaver. Sergeant Morice said he was not prepared to go on with the case at once, and asked for a remand until Monday, as the prisoner bad only been brought from Timaru the previous night, where he had been arrested. Bail was allowed in one surety of £2O, or two in £lO each.
