LEESTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The usual monthly meeting of this committee was held in the schoolhouse on Wednesday, March the 3rd. Present, all the members, with the exception of Mr E. Barranger (resigned). Mr W. A. Pearce was elected on the committee. The chairman reported having inspected the schoolmaster’s ground, and recommended having a drain out and also sundry other improvements. A letter was read from Mr Ford complaining of the outhouse accommodation. It was resolved to write to the Board of Education and apply for additions. The following resolutions wore carried to invite tenders for cleaning out the two schools —“ That the chairman and Mr McLaohlan be appointed as a visiting committee to the Side School.” “ That the secretary try and arrange with Messrs White and Co. for use of steamer for the children’s treat.”
