IMMIGRATION AND EMIGRATION RETURNS.

A return has been prepared of the immigration to the colony and emigration therefrom during the first seven months of the current official year, viz., July, 1579, to January, 1880, inclusive, with the view of ascertaining the extent of the increase of population who may want employment during the winter. The figures, as given by the Registrar-General, are as follows •
