THE DRUIDS.

A special summoned meeting of the Pioneer lodge of this Order was held last night in the lodge room of the Wellington Hotel. The business for which the meeting was called was to consider a scheme for the better disposal of the surplus lodge funds. One member was initiated and another proposed. During harmony JBro. S’. Williams, P.A., presented Bro. Hauptfleisoh with a locket made of colonial gold, bearing the following inscription :—“ Pioneer lodge, 47, U.A.0.D., N.Z.,” with the harp emblem on one side and on the other “ Presented to H. Hauptfleisoh by a few Druid friends, March 2nd, 1830.” A motion was carried to institute a bensvolent fund, to be under the trusteeship of the Arch Druid and secretary. The lodge closed in peace and harmony at 11 p.m.
