[renter’s telegrams.] SYDNEY, February 24. Disastrous Flood. Serious floods have occurred in Richmond River. The streets of Casino are completely submerged, and boats are now engaged saving the lives and property of the inhabitants. NEW CASTLE, February 24. The Colliery Disputes. It is reported that the colliery proprietors, now working under the vend scheme in this district, intend to reduce the wages of the men and the price of coal by 25 per cent., in order that they may bo in a position to compete with collieries not bound by the vend rules. MELBOURNE, February 23. Bank Directors’ Trial. The Provincial and Suburban Bank trial is still proceeding, and it is expected will conclude this week. ADELAIDE, February 23. The Suez Mail. The Peninsula and Oriental Company’s steamship Tan j ore arrived here to-day with the inward Suez mail.
