UNITED METHODIST FREE CHURCH.

The Rev. E. O. Perry, who arrived, per Garonne, in Melbourne, a few days back, is expected to reach Christchurch shortly. This gentleman will take the oversight of the Christchurch circuit, which includes the St. Asßph street, Colombo road, Bingsland, and Spreydon churches. He is to succeed the Rev. L. Macfarlane, of Durham street, who is removing to a new sphere of labor in Rangiora, his failing health having necessitated his giving up the onerous duties connected with this city and suburbs. To celebrate this event a reception soiree is being arranged for, on which occasion a large gathering is expected. The ministers of other denominations will be invited to attend, and an opportunity thus afforded of bidding farewell to the retiring minister, the Bev. S. Macfarlane.
