ROYAL COMMISSIONS.

[By Telegraph.]

WELLINGTON, February 18. The question of appointing, as announced in Parliament last session, Royal Commissions on various questions of public interest aad importance, such as publio works, Civil Service organisation, and local industries, is now receiving the special attention of Ministers, and it is probable the appointments will be gazetted before long. It has not been an easy task to appoint commissioners that fairly represent all parts of the colony, and to find gentlemen possessing the necessary leisure and inclination to give due attention. These difficulties are now in a fair way to be overcome, and the names of their respective commissioners will shortly be announced.
