BLENHEIM RACES. [By Telegraph.] BLENHEIM, February 18. There was a good attendance at the race.) to-day. The totalisator attracted a considerable amount of curiosity, and seemed to almost annihilate the trade of the solitary bookmaker who endeavored to do business. Hurdle Racbi of £3O; entrance, £3. Mr R. Mclvor's Grey Momus 1 Mr J. March's Whalebone 2 Considerable interest was shown in this race, partly caused by Mr Mclvor riding Grey Momus, an event that was most unexpected*, but all anticipations were sorely disappointed when at the start Robinson held in Whalebone and walked up the saddling yard, Grey Momus having a walk over. Maiden Race of £23; entrance, £2; weight for age ; distance, l.i miles. Hero (Freeth) 1 Maris Stuart (Nicholls) 2 Rare (Clifford) 3 The Field, Kate Coventry, Eugene, and Billy Kraft, also ran. At the start Hero led, fallowed by Billy Kraft and Rare. Marie Stuart was the last to get away. On coming up the straight Hero led, and won by about two lengths, hands down. Time, lmin 23seo. Sapling Stakes of £25 ; entrance £3; for two-year-olds. Weight—colts, Bst 101 b; fillies, Bst 51b. Distance, three-quarters of a mile. C. Owen'B Sir George (Redwood) 1 A. R. Ward's Heather Bell 2 Heather Bell led at the start, but Sir George quickly steered ahead, and won by a length. The two horses were both bred out of the same dam, but Heather Bell having got her legs in some wire fencing, was out of condition. Time, 1 min 25seo. Marluorouoh Cup Handicap of £IOO, added to a sweepstake of £5; nomination £1; acceptance £5 ; distance, two miles. Norseman 1 Magnolia 2 Loch Lomond ... ; 3 Clarence and Mamama also started. Marie Stuart and Finfire were scratched. A false start was made, and Clarence and Magnolia went round the course before their riders could pull them in. The betting consequently rose in favor of Loch Lomond and Norseman. On a fresh Btart being made Magnolia and Norseman led, Loch Lomond following with Clarence and Mamama. At the first mile Norseman and Magnolia were ahead still, Norseman slightly to the fore. The latter then cleared well ahead, his jockey giving him the whip the rest of the way. On coming up the straight Magnolia challenged Norseman, and an exciting race ensued, Norseman winning by a neck. Flying Stakes. Talent 1 Hero 2
