CANTERBURY LIBERAL REFORM ASSOCIATION.
A well attended meeting of the committee was held last evening, at the offices of the association, in Hereford street. Mr J. B. Andrew occupied the chair. Correspondence was read and laid upon the table. Some accounts were passed for payment. Apologies for the absence of thiee members of committee were given in. Vice-president Olephane here took the chair, and reported •rt arrangements for monthly general meetings. It was moved, seconded, and carried—- “ That the offices be open on Wednesday night in each week from eight tiff ten o’clock, for nee of members, to commence the ■■first Wednesday in March.” Several gentlemen offered their services, which were accepted, to take charge, in their turn, of the rooms for the first month. It was resolved unanimously—“ That the secretary write to Sir George Grey, and respectfully request that he will come to Christchurch to address his constituents, as this association still considers him to be their representative in Parliament.” It was decided to purchase a stock of registration forms, in readiness for the use of members to register their claims to vote. Other business of a routine character was disposed of, and the meeting closed.
