Captain Buxton, arrived on Tuesday night, with a cargo of timber, from fictou. whence she sailed January 26th. She ■was berthed at No. 4. „ , . ... The brigantine Sea Bird. Captain Smith, from Hokiauga, left there 25th ult., and had moderate variable winds down. Berthed at No- 5. , . The Union Company a steamers Emgarooma aud Waitaki are due to-day, the former to leave Auckland via East Coast and Wellington, the latter for Dunedin. Ths ketch Comet, Captain Short, arrived yesterday morning, from Waitapn, whence she left on Thursday. Had southerly weather to Kaikonn, on Tuesday morning, etrong southerly breeze with heavy sea, which lasted all day; thence, northerly to arrival. She was berthed at No. 3 Wharf yesterday. The barque making for the Port ou Tuesday night proved to be the Elizabeth, Captain Levett, from Newcastle, after a passage of fourteen days. Southerly weather was experienced across to Cape Farewell, head winds through the Straits, and southerly since. Berthed at No. 3. The steamer Jane Douglas, Captain Fraser, arrived from Kaikoura and Wellington at 11 p m., on Tuesday. The steamer sailed on her return trip last night. The Arethusa was berthed yesterday at the Gladstone Pier. THE CRUSADER. Messrs Shaw, Savill and Co.’a ship Crusader, Captain L. Davies, was towed from the pier yesterday, at 10 a m., and went direct to sea, starling with a light N.E. breeze on her voyage horns. The vessel looked very handsome a« she passed out to the bay, being in fine trim, and as she lef o Captain Davies received a good send-off by a number of his friends upon the pier. Fourteen passengers left by her, and the vessel is the bower to London of a full cargo of wool, with some sundries, valued at close upon .£90,000. The next ship of the same line to follow is the Lady Jocelyn, now loading.
