FRIENDLY SOCIETIES’ FETE.
The balance-sheet of the amalgamated Friendly Societies’ Fete, held on Boxing Day, has been ißsued. The total receipts amounted to £3S3 3s 3d, and the disbursements, including donations of £3 5s each to the Hospital and Orphanage, honorarium to secretary £lO 10s, and honorarium to chairman £3 3s, amounted to d£265 13s Bd, leaving a balance of £97 12s 7d as profit. This it was decided to divide amongst the Lodges taking partin the fete n the basis of Is 2d per member. This has been done, and the amount divided amongst three Lodges of Foresters, eight Lodges of the Oddfellows, Manchester Unity, and three Lodges of D.-uids. Altogether the affair seems to have been a complete success, and fete will probably now become established as an annually recuring event.
