MERIVALE.
A parochial association in connection with the O lurch* ork Society was established in this parish on Monday evening. Tde Rov. W. C. Harris, as organising chaplain, attended to give the necessary explanation of the object of such parochial organisation. In this parish a guild of churchworkers had already been established. By the action taken last night this guild is now merged into the Merivale Parochial Association of Churohworkers. The first resolution —" That a parochial association be formed in the parish," was moved by Mr Isaac Gibbs, and seconded by Mr James S. Jameson. The second resolution consist of the ircumbent, church effieers, choir, organist, Sunday school teachers, district visitors, the members of the ladies' working party, and any others whom the committee shall admit," was moved by Mr John Mann, seconded by Mr Willey, and carried unanimausly. The following committee were appointed to assist in managing the affairs of the association:—Messrs Gibbs (secretary), Stringer, Mann, and Macintosh. Messrs Reade, Watkins, Smith, and Wilkinson took part in the discussion of the subject, and some sacred music was given at intervals during the evening.
