WELLINGTON SPORTING NOTES. WELLINGTON, February 3. This morning Messrs Walters and Vallance's horses worked on the beach. Mr Walters was present and gave Hippo and Libeller a sharp canter of a mile and a half, after which both started together to gallop the same distance. Hippo pulled over tbe colt all way, and finished three lengths ahead, going in good form as far as could be seen. The weights were the same as in the Handicap. Norseman did two miles in 3min. 54j0c., and Magnolia in 3 min. 57sec. Chancellor went a Cup course with Laertes, the former coming home well in front. Soukar went a threequarter speed gallop of two miles. York, Sinking Fund, and Pinfire are unlikely starters.
