SPORTING.

WELLINGTON EACEB. [By Tblbsbaph.] WELLINGTON, February 2. On Sunday morning Templeton and Lara did a good two-mile gallop, and finished together, but the old horse appeared to have the best of the spin. York and Chancellor both galloped, the former not going bo well as lately. The others only cantered. This morning Laertes did a mile and a half fast, going fairly well. King Quail had three miles stripped, stopping at the end of each mile, and showing temper. Foul Play, in the presence of his Excellency, owner, and Mr Lance, after the others had gone home, did two miles in 3min. 55sec, lathering freely at the finish. Several cantered on the beach. Walters' string and Hailstorm galloped, and Tallance's lot walked. Hippocampus is going in rattling form, and is much fancied. The latest betting is— S to 2 agst Foul Play (off) 5 to 1 agst Lara (tk and iff) 6 to 1 agst Hippo (tk ar<d off) 6 to 1 agst Templeton (rk and off) 100 to 12 agst Laertes (off) 100 to 10 agst Hailstorm (■ ff) 100 to 10 agst Chancellor (off) 100 to 9 agst Soukar (off) 100 to 5 agst King Quail (off)
