CHURCH WORK SOCIETY, RANGIORA.
On Sunday laßt the Rev.W.O.Harris preached in St. John's Church, the offertories, morning and evening, being in aid of this society. On Monday evening a meeting was held_ in the Sunday school-room, at which the objects of the society were explained. The Ven. Archdeacon Dudley occupied the chair. Mr Harris stated the intentions of the society and the work it had in hand. Mr A. H. Cunningham moved, and Mr C. E._ Tribe seconded —" That a branch of the society be formed in the parish of Rangi>ra." This was carried. The Hon. H. B. Gresson moved—" That the society consist of the incumbent, church officers, lay reader, precentor, choir, Sunday school teachers, and as many as may be willing to act as district visitors." Rev. J. L. Keating seconded the motion, which was carried. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Aherne, seconded by Mr Alford—" That the committee consist of the incumbent, Messrs Cunningham, J. M. Thomson, O. Merton, and C. E. Tribe." A vote of thanks was accorded to the Ven. Chairman, and congratulations on his inaugurating this branch, and thanks to the Rev. W. 0. Harris for his attendance and help. The proceedings concluded with the benediction.
