The challenge recently sent by Captain Muir, of the B (Dunedin) Battery of the Volunteer Artillery, to all the other batteries to fire a carbine match has, as will be seen below, resulted in a victory for the challengers, the Ohristchurcb, E Battery, occupying the second place in the scoring. The highest individual scorer was Captain Muir, of the Dunedin Battery, with 72 points, and the lowest Gunner Joyce, of the G (Invercargill) Battery, with six points.
