Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to necessary alterations) as under : SATURDAY, JANUARY 10. For Australian Colonies, per express train to connect with s.s. Eotomahana, at 7.30 a.m. For Chatham Islands, per Omaha, at 11.15 a.m.; late fee letters at 11.26 a.m.; guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Otago, per Hawea, at 11.15 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.25 a.m.: guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Wanaka, at 7 p.m. The guard’s van must not be used for this mail. The next mails for the United Kingdom, via Southampton and Brindisi, will bo closed at Christchurch on January 15th.
