POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to necessary alterations) as under : SATURDAY, JANUARY 10. For Australian Colonies, per express train to connect with s.s. Eotomahana, at 7.30 a.m. For Chatham Islands, per Omaha, at 11.15 a.m.; late fee letters at 11.26 a.m.; guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Otago, per Hawea, at 11.15 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.25 a.m.: guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Wanaka, at 7 p.m. The guard’s van must not be used for this mail. The next mails for the United Kingdom, via Southampton and Brindisi, will bo closed at Christchurch on January 15th. The next mail tor the United Kingdom via San Francisco will bo closed at Christchurch, on January 3lst, and will be duo in London on March 16th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
