Several members spoke, expressingtheirdeepsympathy with Mr Waters, and their high appreciation of his services as trade secretary, which appointment he has held since the formation of the Union. The secretary was instructed to convey the sympathy of the meeting to him, with their best wisheß for his speedy recovery. A committee was also appointed to consider the whole question of the secretary's work and the trade department, to report next month. Preliminary arrangements were made for the annual meeting, of which due notice will be given. The nomination of officers for the ensuing year was closed. The question of the centenary celebration was postponed to next meeting, to take precedence of the new business. The following notice of motion was given as an addition to Rule 4 : " Whereas, on account of distance, it is not convenient for schools to send delegates, they may appoint members of the Union living within a convenient distance to represent them." The meeting was opened and closed with prayer.
