COLOMBO ROAD SCHOOL.

The annual distribution of prizes took place in the schoolrooms, on Friday afternoor. There was a large attendance of visitors, with several members of the school committee.

In the infant department each child (about 450 in all) received a child's picture book from the mistress, Miss Eowley, and Miss Watts, assisted by the pupil teaohers. In the girls' school, Mrs Joyce presented the prizes, assisted by the head mistress, Mrs Bowmaker, to the following : Standard I.—First Division : 1, Goodman ; 2, Emily Dunham ; 3, Helen Savage; 4, Martha Whyte; 5, Eleanor Lockwood j 6, Cecilia Simpson ; 7, Elizabeth Ward. In the Boys' School, Mr Joyce, the chairman of the School Committee, presented the prizes, assisted by Mr Easton, the head master.
