The ship Bruce, from Calcutta for this port nnd Dnnedin is out 65 days. The s.s. Taiaroa, Captain Holmes, arrived yesterday in company with the Ringarooma. She loft Wellington at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, and had a strong northerly wind down. Sailed for Timaru nnd Port Chalmers at 5.30 p.m. ENGLISH SHIPPING. Loading—Pleiades, 997 tons; Waimate, 1123 tons; Westland. 1116 tons. The Hereford, for Lyttelton, passed Deal September 30th; was nt Plymonth October sth, and Bailed thence October 6th. The Pinko passed Deal October 21th, and the Sonthosk on September 27th. The Waitara was spoken September 23th, in 15 N. 26 W. The Remonstrant, from Glasgow to Port Lyttelton, takes ont throe horses, valnod nt £6OO. The number of wrecks reported for the present year, to date of October 25th, amounted to 1299. The tonnage loading on the berth at Loudon October 30th, for India, Chinn, and the Capo of Good Hope, amounted to 45.720 tons, and for Australia and New Zealand to 50.115 tons._ The shipbuilders on the Clyde have increased their rates for now shipping to the extent of £1 per ton, to meet the recent advance in the price of iron. Large premiums are being paid at Lloyd’s to reinsure several overdue ships. On the Knowsloy Hall, which left London for New Zealand on June Bth, sixty guineas, and on the Corea, which left Adelaide for the United Kingdom on May 10th, forty guineas. The Ismyr, of Liverpool (Graham), official number 60,019. which sailed from Port Pine for the United Kingdom (wheat) on February 17th last, has not since boon hoard of. The fine iron clipper ship Marlborough, 1014 tons register, loft Greenock on October 23rd, for Otago. The number of souls on board was over 400, of whom 300 wore immigrants. There wore also a number of cabin passengers. The Carystort, 14 guns, screw-corvette, steel and iron cased with wood, it is stated, will bo commissioned for service as flagship on the Australian tation. The Eastminster. Captain Mosoy, chartered by Messrs Shaw, Saville aud Co., of London, was dispatched from Plymouth on October 25th, with 358 emigrants for Wellington and Nelson, New Zealand, 184 of whom are English, 83 Scotch, 69 Irish, and 17 foreigners. There aro 45 married couples, 74 single men, 84 single women, 51 boys, 47 girls, and infants.
