CANTERBURY CHURCH LOAN.

Respecting the Church Trust six per cent, loan of fifty th«u:and pounds, the following remarks appear in Westgarth’s Circular, received by yesterday's mail : —“ This private loan issue, under a colonial Church Property Trust Ordinance, &c., was offered by the Union Bank of Australia for public tender on 27th instant. The loan is repayable sth July, 1910, and the interest is due on sth January and sth July. There was a declared minimum price of 105, payable 5 per cent, on application, and the balance on 28th prox. The net price ex interest was thus about 102£. £38,000 was taken at prices chiefly from 105 to 107 10s. This is another instance of the great difficulty of selling such small and special or “ out of tho way ” loans. The security, as detailed in the prospectus, seems unexceptionable.”
