MAMMOTH MINSTRELS.
There was another excellent house at the Theatre Royal last night, when the Mammoth Minstrels went through the same programme as on their opening nighr. Some ot the best features of the entertainment are tho colloquialisms and jokes interspersed through the first part. Many of the jokes and witticisms are rather ancient, but are revivified by the racy manner in which they are given, the four corner men, Messrs Bent, Cheevers, Newlands andßrown, keeping the audience in convulsions of laughter. The ballads of the quartetto party, in addition to being well chosen, are given in first-class style, the voices of tho singers being far above the average of minstrel companies. An addition was made to the programme last night by the introduction of the words of Blumenthal's " Message," set to original music, and arranged as a quartette by Professor J. Summers, Mus. Bao. Oxon., of Melbourne, for Messrs T. Campbell, F-ede ricks, Araery, and Beaumont Bead, and the exclusive property of the Mammoth Minstrels. This is a composition of the highest merit, the scoring evincing the'hand of an accomplished and finished musician. As sang laßt night it was a real musical gem, the voices being balanced in the most perfect manner, and the harmony simply exquisite, as movement succeeded movement in a recurring change of key. The quartette was rapturously received. The programme will be repeated this evening, the first change taking place to-morrow night.
