Mails close at tlio CMef Post Office for tho following places (subject to necessary alterations) as under : TUESDAY, DEC. 9. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Waitaki, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p m. train. WEDNESDAY. DECEMBER 10. For Australian Colonies, per expres train to Port Chalmers (to connect with the s.s, Albion), at 7.30 p.m. THURSDAY, DECEMBER 11. For Northern Ports, per Arawata. For Otago, per Wellington. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 12. For Northern Ports of New Zealand and Australian, per Wakatipu. The next mail for tho United Kingdom, via Brindisi and Southampton (for letters specially addressed per either of these routes only), will be closed at Christchurch on December 17th. Tho mail via Brindisi will bo duo in London on February 9th, and tho mail via Southampton on February IGth, 1880. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch ou January 3rd, and will bo due in London on February 17th, 1880. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
