HARMONIC SOCIETY.

The second concert of the Christchurch Harmonic Society will take place this evening in St. Michael's Schoolroom. The first part of the programme consists of Romberg’s “ Lay of the Bell,” and the second a selection of instrumental and vocal music, supported by some leading amateur artistes, under the conduotorship of Mr Landergan. At a meeting held last night after the rehearsal of the cantata, in the Christchurch East Schoolroom, the following officers and members of committee were appointed : —President, Rev. H. C. M. Watson ; vice-presidents, Dr. Prins and Professor Cooke ; committee, E. Ellis, Esq., M.D., Messrs T. Acland, Q-. Bowron, G. Bonnington, J. Curnow, R. W. England, H. H. Loughnan, P. W. Rose, Rowley, J. W. Rutland, J. T. M. Smith, and GK Thome.
