UNITED METHODIST FREE CHURCH.

Tho anniversary tea and public meeting in connection with the Uiited Meth< diet Free Church, St. Asaph street, took place last night. Tho tea meeting was held in the schoolroom, which was tastefully decorated with choice flowers and emblems, which, together with the tea tables, were furnished by the ladies of the congregation and friends. About 250 sat down to tea, and on the tables being cleared an adjournment was mads to the church, in which the public meeting was held. The Rev. 3. Macfarlane occupied the chair. The treasurer read his report, which showed on tile year's working a deficit of £BO, occasioned by the extra expenses incurred in building the new church. The total value of the property was estimated at £4OOO, and the indebtedness £1200; £4OO of the latter sum it was proposed to make up by a bizaar, and the balance would remain on easy mortgage. During the evening addresses were delivered by the Revs. 8. Macfarlane, H. B. Redstone, of Wellington, A. Peters, and J. White, and other friends. Hymns and anthems were -sung by the chair, under the leadership of Mr J. T. M. Smith, who played tho harmonium. Thero was a very full attendance, and the proceedings terminated shortly before 10 p.m.
