ARRIVAL OF BISHOP REDWOOD.

E.ferring to the arrival of his Lordship Bishop Redwood for the purpose of dedicating the new organ lately built in the Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart, Barbadoes street. Father Ginerty iu an address to the congregation last Sunday, stated that his Lordship would arrive from Wellington to-morrow. The representatives of the church and parish will meet the Bishop at Lyttelton, and accompany him to Christchurch by special train at 5 p.m. On his arrival at the Christchurch station he will be met by the parishioners in a body, represented by the Society of St. Vincent do Paul, the Christian Doctrine Society, and the Young Men’s Catholic Association, also by the Hibernian Society accompanied by their band and the regalia of their order. The children of the common schools, as well as the boys of St. Patrick’s school, together with the children of Mary and the Guard of Honor of the Sacred Heart, the two last composed of young ladies, will also swell the procession, which will come up Manchester street, thence along St. Asaph street to the church. Three triumphal arches are in course of erection, one at the front g-te of the church, bearing the motto “ Welcome,” the second midway between the gate and the church, with the device " Oead millia failtha,” and the third with an appropriate inscription over the principal door o£ the church. Addresses will be presented to the Bishop by the different' bodies, and by the representatives of the parishioners. His Lordship will reply to the addresses, and probably will deliver an appropriate sermon. At the opening of the organ on Sunday his Lordship will be assisted by Dr. Moran, Bishop of Dunedin, and by the distinguished Jesuit Father O’Malley. Father Ginerty, in his address last Sunday, wished it to be understood that the welcome to Bishop Redwood was a personal mark of esteem, devoid of any political or religious significance.
