EVENING SITTING. THB "WANT OF CONPIDBNCB VOTE.

On the motion that the House go into Committee of Supply, Mr Macandbbw said that if the Want of Confidence motion had been proceeded with ten days ago, the present Government would have been removed.

The Pekmieb having called attention to the fact that Mr Macandrew had a motion on the paper bearing on this question, Mr Macakdekw said that they having been deserted, and not having a majority, tbey did not wish to delay the business of the country, and he would move that the no-con-fidence motion be discharged from the Order Paper. The usual forms were observed, and the motion was allowed to lapse. The Souse then went on with the second reading of the L ind Act. 1877, Amendment Bill.

Mr Roixeston explained the provisions of the Bill. The debate continued until the House rose at 10 p.m.

In the House last night, all the Government measures were postponed to Friday. The other business was chiefly the first readings of private Bills.
