ASHLEY COUNTY CRICKET ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of members was held at Boberts' Club Hotel, Bangiora, on Tuesday. Present Messrs Lee (president),Leach (hon. sec),Morton, Wright, Ensor, andßlunden. The secretary reported that the Sefton, Oust, Bangiora, and Kaiapoi clubs had joined the association and appointed delegates. Matches had been arranged with the Midland Club for November 10th and February 12th, the Wanderer Club for November 27th and January 15th or 17th. No reply had been received yet from the Q-eraldine County Club. The Ashburton County Club wrote to say it had not been able to arrange for a match. A letter was read from the Lincoln Club, stating that it was proposed to form an association of the clubs in the Selwyn county with a view to making a match on behalf of the Selwyn county during the third week of December. It was proposed—" That if a match with the Selwyn Club be arranged it take place on January Bth." Mr Ensor moved, Mr Blunden seconded—" That anyone not a member of the County Club, or subscribing to clubs represented, may become a member on payment of an annual subscription of 5b." Carried. A committee meeting was then held.
