Sir, —I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the date quoted in the margin (October 14th), requesting that the Government Advertisements for the Provincial District of Canterbury may again be inserted in the Press newspaper, and in reply am directed by the Colonial Secretary to inform you that in.tructions have been already issued for an impartial distribution of Advertisements amongst all leading morning newspapers.
