PROFESSOR JONAS’ GHOST.
The illusory entertainment under this title was) given on Saturday, at the Oddfellows’ Hall, when there was a very good house. The ghost illusions are wonderful, and so to large extent are the artistes who appear in the programme designed to introduce the •pectrescopio effects. The programme opened with a Christy Minstrel performance. It is always refreshing to meet old friends, and during the course of this part of the performance one meets with a number of jokes which can be warmly welcomed for old acquaintance sake. The introduation of the ghostly visitants who take up the positions of the burnt cork artistes js cleverly managed. The novelty in the olio was the appearance and disappearance of the artistes taking part in it, who seemed to be evolved out of a mist, and to return thither after their contribution to the programme. In this part Mr F. Brown sang “ Wrecked and Saved” very well indeed, and was deservedly encored. The final piece introduced most wonderful effects. There were ghosts of all colors and sizes, and the concluding effect introducing the ghosts apparently climbing up the wall, had a most ludicrous appearance. The company appear again this evening. .
