ELLESMERE AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.
More than usual liberality has been displayed this year in the matter of private prizes to be given away at the Ellesmere A. and P. Association's Show. In addition to a number of money prizes and other awards there are no less than sixteen donations of handsome articles of plate which have been supplied by the firms of Messrs PoterseD and Co., Coates and Co., and Messrs Sandstein and Co. Amongst the names of the prize-givers this year are the Hon. John Hall, Mr Charles Bourn, P. Cunningham and Co., Mr J. Boag, the Pbbsb Company, and the "Lyttelton Times." Messrs W. J. G. Bluett, John Gear, E. J. Lee, J. McKellar, J. Hicks, W. Cook, Montgomery and Co., Mr James Boyd, Leeston Store Company Messrs Henry and Ohing, Wauchop and Cameron, and De Bidder, Coop and Rennie. The majority of the artioles of plate, consisting of cups, salvers, butter dishes, pickle and preserve jars, tankards, tea and coffee service, clocks, &c, are to be seen in the windows of Messrs Sandstein and Co. and Messrs Coates. The articles are of choice and varied patterns, richly chased, and Tefiect credit on the taste and liberality of the donors.
